AutoTempest.com Shares Annual Philanthropy Initiatives

Car Shopping Website Pledges its Support, Hoping to Inspire Others to Donate

Victoria, B.C., Canada, Dec. 22, 2020 – AutoTempest.com, the powerful car shopping website that helps consumers search top sites like Cars.com, TrueCar, Carvana, and Cars & Bids, announces its 2020 corporate philanthropy initiatives supporting organizations dedicated to eradicating disease, improving health, helping the needy, and advancing technology to battle climate change.

Each year AutoTempest.com makes financial commitments to a variety of charitable organizations. “The AutoTempest team is passionate about doing our part to support organizations and causes that resonate with and reflect our values,” said Nathan Stretch, AutoTempest.com founder and CEO. “This year we’ve distributed more than $65,000 CAD ($51,000 USD) to some excellent organizations working on solving some of our biggest health, societal and environmental challenges.”

According to Stretch, AutoTempest.com has supported the Terry Fox Foundation in Canada for a number of years, and in 2020 the company continues to help fund the foundation’s cancer research efforts. Fox’s story is extremely inspiring. While facing his personal battle with cancer, Fox wanted to help others. He embarked on the Marathon of Hope, his mission to increase awareness and raise funds for much-needed cancer research. He launched an important movement, one that in 2020 is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Other corporate giving initiatives include supporting international and domestic organizations like the Against Malaria Foundation, the many wide-ranging CARE efforts through the organization’s Canadian arm, and Our Place, an inner-city community center serving Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable and least equipped to manage the Coronavirus pandemic: the working poor, impoverished elderly, those who are mentally and physically challenged, addicted citizens, and the homeless.

AutoTempest.com also partnered with Freddy ‘Tavarish’ Hernandez, host of the popular Tavarish automotive enthusiast YouTube channel, and donated a significant portion of its annual philanthropy ($20,000 USD) to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

To help advance technology to combat climate change, AutoTempest.com supports Project Vesta, a non-profit that is studying the use of the earth’s natural carbon sequestration cycle to remove additional CO2 from the atmosphere. It currently is engaged in a pilot project to test the safety and efficacy of its approach. “While reducing carbon emissions remains a priority, carbon capture technology will ultimately also be needed to limit climate change,” said Stretch. “I believe Project Vesta’s approach shows promise and has the potential to be far more cost-effective and scalable than other alternatives.

“I’m happy to support these organizations because I think it’s important to give back, but my ultimate hope is that we inspire others. I know it’s a particularly tough time for everyone right now, and especially charities. But there is strength in numbers, and if everyone who is able contributes – whether it’s a few dollars or some of your free time – great things are possible.”
