Malaise Monday 9/28: ’73-’76 Cadillac Calais premium
Interiors could be done up in eleven genuine leathers, five plaids, velours, and knits. I think it's fair to say that the Calais went out with a bang, and Cadillac wouldn't be the same without a brash entry level offering, until the debut of the ATS in 2013.

Malaise Monday 9/21: ’74-’78 Ford Pinto premium
What is the Ford Pinto to you? For many people who were adolescents in the 70s, it was a ticket to freedom, nightmare on wheels, love shack, hot rod, the list goes on, and on. To me, it was the first car that I ever knew as a bringer of fiery death. My dad explained […]

Malaise Monday 9/14: 1973 Chevrolet Impala premium
When the Impala nameplate is mentioned, it usually conjures up images of either the early 1960s models that are popular with the lowrider community, or the brutish SS version offered in the 90s. However, the ’71-’76 Impala deserves as much recognition as its older, and much younger relatives. It was the best selling car in America […]

When you look at this 1977 Dodge Monaco, does you skin begin to itch? Mine does. This thing is practically the automotive manifestation of a guy in a polyester suit, complete with a comb over and bad pickup lines. The Dodge Monaco is an easily overlooked malaise era car. It didn’t have any particularly innovative features […]

Malaise Monday 8/3: Chrysler New Yorker Brougham premium
Regardless of body style, the New Yorker has an oddly beautiful look for such a behemoth of an automobile. It's striking from any angle, the pointy chrome bumpers and thick chrome trim around the taillights see to that. I'd go so far as to say that a well kept example of New Yorker Brougham would be at home in a Baroque or Victorian art museum. Too far? Ok, too far.
