Wallpaper Wednesday 8/25: BMW 328i xDrive Sports Wagon premium
Traditionally speaking, there are few things more American than a station wagon, but not since the last Dodge Magnum rolled off the assembly line in 2008 has there been a domestic longroof available. The Europeans on the other hand, they still love themselves a wagon. Virtually every model produced by an automaker east of the Atlantic has […]

What about finding the right one? If so, then you must not have heard of the AutoTempest search tool, in which case your finding this […]

Malaise Monday 8/24: 1978-1983 Ford Fairmont premium
Think of it as a mashup of Rod Stewart and Elvis. A half baked idea to bring together two things that are fine on their own, but really weird when stuck together.

Underrated Ride Of The Week: 2008-2012 Porsche Boxster premium
Unless you’re the type of person who desperately desires the approval of others, the second generation Porsche Boxster is a perfect choice for anyone who loves driving. The average bag of bones with a few functioning synapses will forever look at the Boxster as a car that is “lesser than”, something entry level, something plebeian. […]

Wednesday Wallpaper: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera premium
If there’s ever a class of car where one should sweat the details, it’s got to be exotics. In a segment where everything is dialed up to 11, the smallest tweaks are what separate good from great. The Lamborghini Gallardo(Guy Yard Doh!) LP 570-4 Superleggera is the automaker’s hardcore, super lightweight, V10 powered monster. Apply 562 […]

Used Car Buying Tip: Don’t Trust Your Own Eyes premium
During my 29 years on this planet I’ve heard the phrase “The only person you can truly trust is yourself”. While that’s a nice thought, it’s total BS. You can’t trust yourself as far as you can throw yourself, which is a distance of zero anything. Unless of course you’ve successfully pulled off the world’s first human cloning, […]

Malaise Monday 8/17: 1974-1976 Mercury Cougar XR-7 premium
While many larger, more absurdly optioned cars can be labeled as the absolute embodiment of the Malaise Era, the 3rd generation Mercury Cougar gives them a run for their money. For 1974, Mercury took the Cougar away from the performance car segment and moved it into the personal luxury car market. This was standard across the industry as […]

Week In Review: August 10th-14th premium
When you look at this 1977 Dodge Monaco, does you skin begin to itch? Mine does. This thing is practically the automotive manifestation of a guy in a polyester suit, complete with a comb over and bad pickup lines. The Dodge Monaco is an easily overlooked malaise era car. It didn’t have any particularly innovative features […]

Underrated Ride Of The Week: 2007-2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP premium
So what if it shares a manual transmission with the Hummer H3, Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon? It was built to take a beating and with all that torque on tap, that's a good thing. As for the overall low quality cabin, that comes with the territory. This is a Pontiac, not a BMW, not a Porsche, not even an Audi. It's not going to feel premium and it isn't trendy.
